Classic matcha tea - how to make it

Classic matcha tea with water is the traditional and simplest way to enjoy Japanese tea. It is a ritual that not only energizes, but also helps to relax.

You will need:

  • 1 teaspoon Feel Brill matcha tea
  • 60–80 °C hot water
  • Electric whisk or bamboo whisk (chasen)
  • Bowl (chawan) for convenient whipping

Preparation of matcha:


  1. Add 1/2 – 1 (1–2 g) teaspoon of matcha tea to a bowl.
  2. Add a little hot water (60-80°C) and shake:
    • If you are using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk in a "W" motion until a smooth foam forms.
    • If you are using an electric mixer, simply immerse it and beat until a light foam appears on the surface.
  1. Add water to desired strength.
  2. Delicious!
